Mill Cove Golf Club Jacksonville

Originally opened in 1990, Mill Cove Golf Club is now under new management committed to giving the club a clean break and allowing the course conditions to do justice to the Arnold Palmer layout. The pervading theme at Mill Cove is playability.

The 18-hole championship course features 6,671 yards of golf from the longest tees, giving the facility the capability of hosting professional or serious amateur events. But with five sets of tees, Mill Cove is a comfortable setting for weekend golfers of all ability levels.

Mill Cove

The putting surfaces at Mill Cove are consistently among the finest in the Jacksonville area, and the new staff is committed to keeping the bermuda greens at their very best.

Overall, the course gives golfers a comfortable feeling, that is certainly challenging, yet playable, but no walk in the park. Mill Cove’s tree-lined fairways manage to clearly define each hole, but remain relatively open and inviting. This classic Palmer/Ed Seay design also has many lakes and takes advantage of the natural features of the landscape.

Many improvements are planned for the facility that already features a host of amenities including a fully-stocked pro shop, clubhouse, veranda and full practice area that contains two chipping areas, two putting greens and a full driving range.

Mill Cove is one of the only courses in the local area to offer competitive memberships. The facility also offers ladies and junior clinics, and is looking to expand its player development efforts in the coming months.

Currently, an overseeding project is underway that will rid the course of any weeds and gradually improve on already excellent playing conditions. The course is a par-71, is rated 71.7 and has a slope rating of 129.

Mill Cove Golf ClubThe club is now managed by GF Management, which has a dozen courses under its umbrella, including facilities in Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. GF also manages the Biltmore in Tampa, Florida. John Mousley is the new general manager at Mill Cove.

Mill Cove is convenient to downtown Jacksonville, located halfway between the city and its beaches at 1700 Monument Road just off of FL-9A S in Duval County.

DIRECTIONS
15 minutes from downtown, the beaches and Jax Int’l Airport just east of 9A on Monument Rd.
