Now, A New Era Begins - The King and PrinceOver the years, the commitment to enhancing the premier golf experience at The King and Prince Resort has remained the highest priority. That commitment is behind the investment in the extensive course renovation project that has dramatically renewed and restored the King and Prince Golf Course, home of the Hampton Club.

Golf course environments are constantly changing; trees mature, grasses age, bunkers loose depth, erosion occurs, and in twenty years, the technology of the equipment has changed dramatically. With all this in mind and Joe Lee’s design at hand, The King and Prince Beach & Golf Resort turned to Billy Fuller Golf Designs.

William “Billy” Fuller, graduate of North Carolina State University has managed or developed over 100 courses, more than 35 courses have hosted PGA and/or USGA event and majors.

The King and Prince

He spent five years at Augusta National Golf Course as Superintendent before leaving to pursue his dream of golf course designer with Cupp Design, Inc. In 2002 he began Fuller Golf Designs and has been involved in design and restoration of Hinsdale Golf Club, Chicago, Wynlakes Golf & Country Club, Montgomery, Alabama, Emerald Pointe at Lake Lanier Islands and Papago Golf Club in Phoenix, Arizona.

The King and Prince Resort

Medalist Golf provided quality building to create a truly great golf experience. The course restoration encompassed greens, tees, bunkers, fairways, roughs, lake banks, trees, drainage and cart path repairs all while maintaining the design integrity of Mr. Lee’s original design of strategic placement of targets to guide the golfer through each hole. The visiting golfer may also hone in their skills on a newly added practice area that includes putting greens, practice bunkers chipping greens, fairway bunkers and target greens.
