ST. AUGUSTINE, FL – The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village, located next to the World Golf Hall of Fame and the St. Johns County Convention Center in St. Augustine, Florida, has captured Meetings & Conventions magazine’s prestigious “Gold Tee Award” for 2007. The highly respected award is given annually to the world’s finest golf resort properties, and this marks the third consecutive year that the 301-room resort has won the honor.

Winners of the Gold Tee Award were nominated and selected by the readers of the magazine based on the overall experience, including overall staff attitude, quality of guest service, range of recreation facilities, quality of the guest rooms and meeting facilities, proficiency of handling reservations, and availability of technical/support equipment. All winning golf properties will be highlighted in Meetings & Conventions’ special Golf Guide issue published in July.

Consistently recognized for its excellence, The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village is the ultimate vacation or meeting destination. Together with the adjoining St. Johns County Convention Center and the adjacent World Golf Hall of Fame, the resort is the largest combination hotel and conference center between Atlanta and Orlando, with 86,000 square feet of meeting space.

“We’re very honored to receive this prestigious award for the third consecutive year,” said Mark Schwantner, general manager of the resort. “Winning such an important honor shows our dedication to providing excellent guest service, facilities and recreational offerings to all of our valued groups and guests.”

The Renaissance Resort is ideally situated in the heart of the beautifully landscaped 6,300-acre World Golf Village. In addition to featuring exceptional golf on two of the country’s finest courses – King & Bear and Slammer & Squire -- The Renaissance Resort has a wealth of additional recreational offerings. These include a 24-hour health club and sauna, professional golf simulator, large pool, hot tub, tennis courts, billiard room, 24-hour business center, jogging trails, and full-service concierge.

Guests also have privileges at the private oceanfront Serenata Beach Club, and have access to the PGA TOUR Golf Academy, the PGA TOUR Spa Laterra, an 18-hole championship putting course, and an impressive Island Challenge Hole.

In addition to its convenient location next to the World Golf Hall of Fame, the resort also is an easy walk to the renowned Walk of Champions, an IMAX® Theater, and a boutique avenue with an assortment of specialty shops and restaurants.

The 10-story Renaissance Resort offers spectacular views overlooking the Village’s picturesque lake and golf courses, and features a towering open atrium lobby complete with running streams, and a cascading waterfall.
