Four Ways to Qualify for National City Million Dollar Shootout

Print E-mail

During the final round of the ADT Championship, scheduled for November 23 at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach a few lucky finalists will be shooting for a million dollar hole-in-one.

The National City Millon Dollar Shootout has announced four ways to qualify for the contest along with corresponding qualifying sites.

Golfers can qualify four different ways: Win a finalist spot at any of the six sites open to the public; win a finalist spot in an official designated charity golf tournament; qualify on the range during the ADT Championship or look for the enter-to-win sweepstakes display at any participating South Florida Publix beginning in mid-October.

The finalists will not only be shooting for a million dollar hole in one ($500,000 to the shooter and $500,000 to designated charities), but also closest-to-the-pin prizes including a $500 Natiional City gift card, two round-trip tickets on American Airlines and a Stay-and-Play package at the World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Florida. All proceeds from the National City Million Dollar Shootout will benefit the Susan B. Komen for the Cure Central Florida and South Florida chapters.

Below is a list of the upcoming 2008 official National City Million Dollar Shootout walk-up qualifying sites open to the public:

  • Aug. 15 - Club Med Sandpiper, Port St. Lucie, 8 a.m. - Noon
  • Aug. 22 - Piper's Landing Golf Club, Palm City, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The local charity events that are hosting an official qualifying contest within their golf tournaments are:

  • Sept. 17 - Swinging for Scholarships Golf Classic, PGA National Resort and Spa; (561) 582-3765

Those who are interested in participating in a charity qualifying event can contact each charity directly or call the ADT Championship office at 561-656-4400 for additional information on any of the sites.

The 2008 ADT Championship will feature a $1,550,000 purse with the winner taking home a $1 million paycheck, the largest first-place prize in the history of women's golf. The ADT Championship will also feature three days of playoffs, with a cut after 36 holes. Players start with a fresh scorecard for the third rouund, which ends with another cut to the top eight players. A final day shootout featuring the remaining players will have them, again, starting with a fresh scorecard for their chances at the $1 million winner's check.

Tickets and packages to the ADT Championship are available online at www.adtchampionship.com or by calling 1-888-LPGA-TIX (574-2849). All children 15 years old and under will receive free grounds admission when accompanied by a ticketed adult.
