Billy Peterson Appointed as General Manager of the World Golf Village Golf Courses

World Golf VillageHonours Golf Company has announced that PGA Master Professional Billy Peterson will serve as general manager of King & Bear and Slammer & Squire golf courses located at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla.  Honours Golf Company has owned and managed the two championship courses since November 2000.   

Before joining Honours Golf, Peterson served as general manager for The Renaissance Club, an exclusive private golf club located in Dirleton, Scotland and with headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla.

“Billy Peterson’s extensive experience in the golfing industry, and especially in the tournament organization area, makes him uniquely qualified to take over the direction of the King & Bear and Slammer & Squire,” said Rob Shults, president of Honours Golf.  “He will continue the high standards of service that we have always offered at the World Golf Village golf courses, and he will bring a new perspective to the day-to-day management of the facility.” 

Peterson, a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, has more than 25 years experience in the golfing industry.  Peterson served as head golf professional at Oakwood Country Club in Kansas City, Missouri, and at Hallbrook Country Club in Leawood, Kansas.  He served as general manager and director of golf operations at The Club of the Country in Louisburg, Kansas, and then went on to serve as head golf professional at the Tournament Players Club at Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.  In addition, Peterson worked with the PGA Tour, Inc., setting up and directing various PGA Tour and World Golf Championship events.
