Jacksonville Beach Golf Club Jacksonville

Recent renovations and upgrades make for a challenging and fun test of golf.

A mainstay of the Jacksonville golf scene for well over four decades, the Jacksonville Beach Golf Club has undergone a facelift of sorts the past couple of years that has revitalized the popular North Florida course.

Spurred by an aggressive renovation campaign, Jacksonville Beach Golf Club has made significant improvements to its greens, conditioning and facilities that will ensure its future as one of the top public courses on Florida's First Coast.

During the past few years, the course has completed renovations on 10 of its 18 greens. In early 2004, Jacksonville Beach Golf Club welcomed a new clubhouse, parking lot and golf cart facility.

In August 2003, the course debuted new greens on holes one, two, four, six and 10. In 2002, it was holes five, nine, 12, 14 and 17 that were rebuilt. All told, more than half of Jacksonville Beach Golf Club's greens have been resurfaced, enlarged and fortified for the future.

An additional 3,000 to 5,000 square feet were added on each green, allowing for up to 15 more pin placements to be utilized day to day.

In addition to the greens, a new lake has been added for water retention on the first hole, which can come into play off the tee on the left side.

This will make the hole play tougher, but still very playable.

Indeed, ensuring the playability, conditioning and challenge of Jacksonville Beach Golf Club is what these changes have been all about.
